Tom Littledeer sets an environmental precedent.

To celebrate the 25th anniversary of Leading Edge Designs, Tom Littledeer, producer of Les Pagaies du Gourmet, has installed 50 solar panels at his atelier, making it the largest privately-owned solar installation in Quebec.

Littledeer has long been committed to sustainability. “We use natural resources, so it is our responsibility to mitigate negative effects on the environment. The solar panels power the machinery we use to craft our cooking tools,” said Littledeer, “We wanted a hands-on approach to offsetting our carbon footprint that we can understand and monitor ourselves.”

Maple is an ideal choice for cooking utensils; it’s sustainable, it’s durable, and it’s local. Littledeer’s standard environmental practices include working with maple exclusively, using wood byproducts in the garden and composting sawdust to grow mushrooms.
